Visual artist raymonde van santen (1947), who lived and worked in the United States for forty years, moved to Wageningen, the Netherlands in 2016.
Her multi-faceted practice and research cover a broad investigation into identity using various media, including ceramics, printmaking, video and photography.
raymonde earned an MSA from Sydney College of the Arts in Sydney, Australië (MSA-Master of Studio Arts) and a Certificate from the College of Art + Design inWashington DC, USA (Certificate Ceramics&Sculpture) where she taught in the Ceramics Department.
raymonde received various awards from the Corcoran College of Art + Design, as well as fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (artist residency).
She exhibits her work and is represented in collections in the United States, Australia, the Netherlands and Germany.
I translate memories into images, objects or stories. Mankind, his surroundings, cycles in nature interest me. I experiment with techniques and look for the limits of materials.
