'4 hand portraits'
2022the imprints of hands on brickmakers; they grab a big handful of clay and throw it in a brickmold to shape a brick. the portrets are installed on two pedestals built up from discarded pallets and wood, and bricks that will be re-used.
'handwerk' / 'needlework'
2022installation made with discarded materials: cardboard tubes mounted with worn heavy gloves. The gloves have been 'restored' using various needlework techniques.

house/home - a participatory installation
2017I made this installation with immigrants with a residency permit who were learning Dutch. They decorated most of the ceramic houses during their break from the lessons. The fired and decorated houses symbolise their new "homes" that appear from underneath the destroyed homes in their home country, made of unfired clay. In eroding clay new roots will grow.
